Happened upon this place after RMNP, and wow.. food was excellent. Duck was amazing, with a great mixture of flavors and the scallops (as a replacement for the Colorado Bass)... read more were so fresh and amazing, I was trying to figure out how sea scallops can taste that great. And our 3 year old loved the cheese puffs (pão de queijo for Brazilians). The homemade vanilla ice cream was the perfect finish for me, and the Froyo delighted our 3 year old. But the NY State of Mind Cheesecake reminded me of my mom's cheesecake. Be sure to try one of the Estes Park local brews they have, too. Alexis was our amazing server and answered all of our questions and made great recommendations. I would highly recommend this place for anyone stopping by and looking for only one place to eat. When... read more we arrived, we were told that our reservation was for 1 hour later than for when I had actually made it (and than what my phone documented) so we would have to wait. However, after a few minutes, we were told that they would find a table for us. We were eventually seated—maybe after a 20 minute wait. We were then served a “splash” of complimentary champagne.—I guess for the reservation issue. We had the cheese puffs which were probably the best part of the meal, and trout pot which was good, as appetizers. We each had the deep fried chicken breast which was tasty. It was served on a bed of black and brown beans with cabbage and seasonings. The vegetables were just “ok” — a bit of a let down for a nice restaurant. No bread was offered. We had a cocktail each which were fine. We had the honey pot for dessert. It was extremely sweet which was too much for my taste. It was one of those desserts in which sweet ingredients are layered into a jar with no baking or preparation skills required. Again, I would appreciate something more in line with the pricing. Overall, the service was good. Pricing was a little too much for what was delivered. But to be fair, certainly nothing here was bad. And we enjoyed the evening.
